Travelodge Mirambeena Darwin Report on overnight stay in Room 133 on 2nd July, 2012 All the faults of this disastrous overnight stay were: 1. The air-conditioning – set at an estimated 18° C – produced a steady stream of cold air at high fan speed all night. The remote control, and the manual on/off switch on the unit both failed. o There were no blankets supplied to the room o There were no flyscreens, so windows allowing warmer air to enter the room could not be used 2. At 6.00am it was discovered that there was no (!) hot water either to the shower or basin. o The bathroom’s exhaust fan’s bearings were so badly worn that the fan produced a howling noise when switched on. o The bathroom door’s hinges squeaked loudly whenever used. o The external air-conditioning plant for the hotel also added to the overnight disturbances in room 133 3. The bedside clock/radio/alarm failed to sound at the set time o The back-up early morning call was several minutes late. Conclusion The duty staff were helpful and attentive during this overnight stay, however, they were in no way responsible for the ordeal suffered. The level of discomfort endured at this hotel was undoubtedly the most distressing in all my 55 years of travelling experience. Far from being a 4-star hotel it was little better than a camp site; it suggests a level of maintenance bordering on the negligent. I have never before written a note of complaint about Hotel accommodation, and I have never before believed or demanded that a disregard for a traveller’s most basic comfort justifies a partial refund of 40% of the room tariff, but believe it is entirely justified in this case, as a gesture of acknowledgement and goodwill. Since this episode was reported to the travel agent I used (Flight Centre, Erina B) no acknowledgement of my texts and email from this agency has been made. The only conclusion can be that Flight Centre, Erina has no wish to provide after-sales care, or show concern for clients, even though it actually recommended this "resort" hotel!!
We had to travel twice at the Travelodge because of a transit and were absolutely disappointed. Our two triple rooms smelled decayed and were sprayed according to our demand by a hotel attendant, so they do not stink so badly, which at night however no improvement. The air conditioning in each of the two rooms, extremely important in this area, did not work in both rooms. The hotelm, however, has to be, that they have really good fitness rooms with large equipment, as well as a pleasant pool. That was it already, but the breakfast disappointed us. Most of the food was not fresh and hot food was only paid after payment, although the prices were already extremely expensive. My advice: Here I would not go again in your place.
Nice pool area. Large Hotel with different accommodations. Bathroom for the price not so great, it lacks extra blankets and lacks the minibar. For this, a refrigerator is available, a kettle and tea and instant coffee. With milk in the fridge !!
Pros: Good location, great pool area, friendly staff, roomy townhouse, comfortable bed and pillows. It has a guest laundry and gym. Cons: Very worn out, broken blinds (making for a dark room), toilet looks straight down the stairs to the couch and out the window, tiles on floor and in bathroom feel greasy, gates and sliding doors have chains and padlocks on them (I understand why, but seems to be a fire hazard). If you want a crash pad, all good.
MovieLink has overtaken normal TV functions! Remote Control is SLUGGISH and has no numeric buttons. This means that one has to click next button more than six times to connect to Sky News. One evening Sky News was ADULT only after 7:30 and needed staff to reset to normal. There were on operating instructions for alarm clock, safe etc. I will never book Travelodge again. Also no lift to second floor in front wing!
We came to Darwin to Celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. The Resort made our holiday very memorable with their outstanding service and professionalism. All staff were very approachable and friendly. The Restaurant was both relaxing and both sevice and meal was outstanding. We highly recommend this Resort to any travellers coming to Darwin.
The travel lodge is in an excellent location for those who wish to be close to the main city of Darwin. It is walking distance to everything from shops, restaurants, tourist attractions and tourist agencies. The hotel itself can fairly clean and the rooms were spacious. Serice such as room service was slow and the staff were standard.
No better than 4 stars. Hotel was very close to CBD and bus stops across the road. Great pool facilities. Rooms were a bit dated and bathrooms in particular shower could do with a decent clean. The housekeeping was average, often missing a towel or face cloth to be replaced. But would return to this accommodation.
Grumpy reception staff, milk in fridge was off, beer bottles in fridge were filled with water, spa didnt work. Shower was average at best. Ive no idea what was "executive" about my room. May be ok for a cheap stay but I would not stay there again on business. Pool is nice though.

Newly built hotel, very large rooms free WiFi in public areas excellent cleaning and friendliest staff
Budget Priced Travel Lodge Motel (remembering that Hotels are very expensive in Darwin). Has a pool and a great restaurant and bar, also has Bar B Que area and laundry facilities as well as Luggage Store Room, close to Woolworths Supermarket and major Bus Stop.
I would recommend this place. The service was very good. Staff named Astha(who served us) is an adorable blond, very personable and very efficient. Our food and drinks were very good, price was affordable . Thanks made our day
Nice axcommodation. Awesome pool which is open late and has a cocktail bar. The buffet breakfast was a bit average but nothing to complain about. This made for a great overnight stay before hitting the road in the top end.
Nice large rooms and very clean. Pool open from 6am to 11am which is far to long if you have a room overlooking the pool and you want an early night kids in pool screaming until 11.00pm not fair on older guests.
This hotel is clean and neat. The service is excellent . All staff are cheerful and helpful! The location is good as you can just take a 5 minutes walk and reach the nearby shopping mall.
Facility is very old need a lot maintain, two rooms we stayed both bathroom fan not working. The second one with drain blockage. But definitely a bargain, with very good location.
Room was good, laundry area always has a wet area you have to step over to get to machines due to bad drainage from watering garden !!! watering garden watering garden
Rooms are ok but not great. Shower screen missing so had a curtain. Room smelled a bit musty. And just feel like an old hotel. Pool area is good and relaxing max 3 stars
This is the place to be. Near shops, the city, not far from the beach, and it has a lovely swimming pool in beautiful surroundings. The dining is not too bad either!!

Decent hotel, very friendly, very nice pool
Decent room, comfortable, basic, but expected for the price. Toilet was not properly cleaned, but hopefully it was just a once off oversight.
