I went there with my wife to be and the food was amazing with each dish carefully made. The service was amazing, from the time we arrived to the time we left we where treated with such great respect. This is the kind of place you go to when you want more than just good food but also a good experience. I am young sporty guy so I eat alot of food. So if you normally eat big servings dont expect that here. Its about excellent food, excellent service and an amazing experience, one which I wont forget :-).
Sage was a disappointment. The food was uninspiring and lacked any subtlety of flavour or evidence of the chefs understanding of flavour combinations. For the price, the degustation menu is borderline terrible, the entree was good, the rest were an abomination of either too strong or lacking in flavour totally. The wait staff spent more time concerned with their reflection than with knowing the menu or what they were serving. We definitely wont be making a return visit.
I have to say I had the worst dessert here. My partner and I still laugh about it. It was meant to have poached apricots, and what was served was a glass containing dried apricots at the bottom, ice cream sitting on top, then the waiter poured lemonade over this! It was essentially a spider with dried apricots floating at the bottom. The accompanying baklava was terrible, it was like eating cardboard with some nuts on it. At least the entrees are a decent size.
I came here for a business lunch and ended up staying for most of the afternoon. In part, it was to do with service that was a little slow, but mostly it was so we could enjoy the brilliant array of food that was coming out in the various courses. I loved it and am keen to return. Sage is now up there with my other favourite restaurants like Figaro in Kingston and Courgette.
The service was good and the food was quite interesting, but not as stunning as the Canberra hype would have you believe. They seem to have missed the mark a bit with the bar component to the restaurant - when we went, there was a private party and we had to enter the restaurant after walking through the middle of someones 40th birthday party slide show - kind of weird.
Went here for a birthday dinner and organised a vegan degustation menu in advance. Each plate was crafted really thoughtfully, with perfectly complementary tastes and textures. Fresh, full-tasting, and exciting food. Beautiful presentation. Service was excellent. Theres an outdoor area which Im sure would be lovely in warmer weather. Good wine list.
Amazing once again, sage pulls out all the stops with a fantastic degustation menu that will appease even the most pickiest of pallettes. My wife was pregnant so they endured that all her plates were pregnancy safe, eg; removed the soft boiled eggs, offered an alternative dish for sashimi. Great job sage!
Went for a special occasion and had the degusation menu. It could not have been better. Each meal outdid the last, and each one had such an amazing and unique blend of flavours. We paired with wine and that just topped everything off. Am already looking forward to going back there.
Love this restaurant. The food is always superb. Staff are excellent. Professional, attentive and know the food. Somelier knows the wines and is informative. Last visit was for a special degustation menu promoting a local vineyard. Exceptional!! This a fabulous restaurant.
Excuse Me Waiter
I can see why its consistently rated as one of Canberra’s best restaurants - they showcase quality local produce with beautiful presentation. Some of their flavour combinations are a bit more adventurous than you would expect, but they keep the menu fresh and exciting.
Dr. Karin O!
A delightful journey in food. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about food and wine. The food was amazing, the atmosphere pleasant. The prices reasonable. Best of all, almost all dishes were gluten free. Loved it!
We went to Sage restaurant for our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. But the desserts were to die for. The best was the creme brulee with elderberry icecream. So delicious!
Loved the degustation. Every course was really great and some were brilliant. Matches wines were also great. Also on at Gorman House that night was a wedding and a poetry slam (plus the Mint Garden bar).
Love sage. Particularly love the taste and test menu, experience even. Matched wines or cordials is recomended. Cozy, some might say romantic atmosphere. Very good service.
Such friendly professional staff Food to die for Melting in the mouth So helpful when my daughter became unwell and accommodated us so well Will definitely be there again
Very nice, cozy and modern restaurant. Quite and located in a really nice area. Food is amazing and very good quality. Really nice bar with outside seating also available.
for whatever reason I have not managed to get to Sage for many years. Today I experienced the best meal I have had . Creative , imaginative but simple and pure. Thank you
As usual the food was excellent, wine list was adequate but service was down a little on the last time I visited. I would still recommend Sage and will go back myself.
Excellent food, excellent fine dining experience, great value for the degustation menu. One of the top Canberra restaurants. This is not a restaurant to take kids to.
Refined dining in a pleasant atmosphere with good staff. Innovative and well constructed menu. Easy (pay) parking outside the historic building. Well worth trying.
Cool setup. Really good food, great drinks & fantastic outside atmosphere by the bar. Bit pricey ... but will return & spend too much again. Fun!
I love my food, and I love to be fine dined, this restaurant not only has excellent service, the food was excellently prepared loved it, great work
Hidden inside an art school, I found it delicious and fresh, and priced well for what it was. I enjoyed the desserts the most. Modern and simple.
Not impressed at all have travelled around the world and had far better food then I had there.was a rip off never will go back there again.
Reliably awesome all the time. Staff are knowledgeable of the food and wine, great service and delicious food. You cant go wrong here.
Amazing food. Dont let the appearance of the restaurant fool you. The food and service is one of the best in Canberra
Incredible in every aspect. Recommend the 5 course degaustation with wine pairing. Best dining experience I have had.
Unbelievable food. Flavours and presentation were sublime. Service was impeccable. Prices quite steep, but expected.
Best Restaurant in Canberra one day... Massive fail with online booking system the next... Not a great look. Not
Great food and service. They made our anniversary very special. Definitely try the 5 course chefs degustation.
Food was great and well presented. Friendly staff provided good services. Loved it
The food was excellent. The service great. The atmosphere engaging. Ill be back.
Stupidly expensive. Dine and drink here if you like spending money.
Great food and atmosphere. The price is high but quality matches.
We were outside for a staff party - nice location and good food.
Trying too hard to be Nomu. Beetroot balls and buckwheat. Yuck.
