A warm friendly greeting kicked off our entry to the restaurant, which is fairly plain, but clean and full of happy faces. The mean arrived quickly and was super-sized, but our meals were super salty. We did order a salted not-octopus dish, but this combined with a not-beef that was also really salty made the whole meal a little disappointing. We started with wonton soup which was really good, but were up-sold when ordering which wasnt needed because we had way too much food. Keep your ordering small any maybe ask for low-salt options.

I probably set myself up for disappointment when I ordered one of my favourite dishes (green curry chicken) in a vegetarian format. The fake chicken really didnt do it for me, and the sauce was in short supply. That said, the massaman beef my friend ordered was significantly nicer and the service was attentive. I would probably give this place another go if I was invited there again, but it wouldnt be my first choice with so many other options available.

Some dishes are better than others. The spring rolls, massaman beef and spicy salty squid were good. The green curry chicken was not as creamy as they usually are at Thai restaurants. The service was quite attentive at times (e.g. when I accidentally dropped my chopsticks on the floor someone was immediately there handing me replacements). But when our mains came out there was a long gap (maybe 10 minutes) between the first two and the second two dishes.

I have been coming to this restaurant very often. However, thiz evening, the waiter was so rude as I was approaching the restaurant, he quickly locked the door, not even to tell me that its still closed, the time was 1655hrs, and his face was sour. Very disappointing.... I have nothing to lose in fact, unbelievable!

Fantastic restaurant! Excellent vegetarian food, friendly and fast service and very inexpensive. Their laksa is the best Ive ever tasted, even better than the Malay in Sydney. A great restaurant for vegos and meat lovers alike. My favourite restaurant in Canberra, by far.

Great food, at a relatively Canberra cost (pretty pricey). The service was a bit patchy, we asked for water three times before we got it, and they try very earnestly to up-sell their food which seemed a bit pushy. But the mains were serviced quickly and a delight to eat.

AU YUK After a few years Away, we looked forward to experiencing Au Lac again My crispy duck was burnt in old oil and was tasteless Our fried rice was microwaved Our fish was dry later found out it has new owners who clearly are not Vietnamese cooks This is a no go !

The best vegetarian restaurant Ive ever been to! It is especially good for mock meats. Lovely staff and the meals come out pretty quick. I would recommend the combination laksa, coconut curry chicken or Southern Style BBQ pork and deep fried soy ice cream!

Best restaurant in Canberra! Great staff and super quick service. The food is delicious and inexpensive. A good range of food and drinks suitable for children even the fussy ones. Even the non-vegetarians in my family including my grandma loves it there!

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Menu is extensive and food was fantsastic. Great value for money and considering we snuck in just before the end of lunch service, the staff were super friendly and made some great recommendations.

Love rice paper rolls, gluten free crepe, Vege fish sauce that comes with both dishes, veges. Friends like lakes, satay chicken and chicken shish kebabs with satay sauce. Hot pot, corn fritters, watermelon and Lychee drinks

Delicious ! This restaurant is great for vegetarians who miss meat as they try to replicate meat texture and flavour with soy protein. Its surprisingly cheap; my pho cost $12.80. The server was also very sweet and friendly.

Have just discovered that it does fake meat. This was not clear from the menus I read. Why is it necessary to have fake meat anyway? Why not just call a spade a spade? In any event the food was pretty ordinary.

I really like this place, especially since their revamp. I like the rendang beef curry. The Peking duck rolls give me life, but would be better if they had shallot in them like they do in most places.

Disappointing. Entres are all deep fried in thick batter and lack flavour. A lot of the mains all taste the same, and really lack flavour as well. Some dishes are very dry and need some kind of sauce.

A different type of thing. Like it or love it, the interesting food at Au Lac is consistent and the staff are very friendly. Take Away is very quick. Clean, Consistent and Quick but not world beating.

Average food. Pricey. Not sure what is all the fuss about. Dont ever go after 2.30pm (they will rest till 5.30pm) even if they say it is ok. The cook wont be okay and would be upset with you.

Canberras best laksa - bar none. Light and modern, friendly and always busy. Plus sometimes they give you free prawn crackers (even with take-away). Always recommend.

Worst vegetarian restaurant Ive been in Dickson. Very oily eggplant dish. Almost inedible. Too pricey for what it is. Service is disappointingly poor.

Delicious fresh vegetarian food, with fun fake meat and fake fish dishes too. Try the chicken drumsticks entree, the "bones" are lemon grass stalks!
