Ordered three coffees and three simple breakfasts. Coffees came out on time but one of our meals was forgotten. Add to that one member of our party ordered porridge but was given a fork to eat it with. After waiting about 10 mins for the missing meal we asked how long it would be. The girl who took the order investigated and came back saying " there has been a mix up". Another ten minutes later and the missing meal appears but without bacon. Again the order goes back. The girl returns saying "please go inside after your meal". We figured it was to offer us a refund on one of the meals or for the manager to at least apologise for the disorganised service. Oh no, it was to pay for the bacon which was not placed with the order. There are lots of options on the foreshore and this place is not looking to be a good one. Pretty poor noting it only opened a couple of days ago. My recommendation, do yourself a favour and try one of the other places over 7th.
I have given this place about 10 chances because i live on the foreshore but everytime it lets me down. From waiting 20 minutes for a take away croissant only for it to be given to someone who waited 20 seconds, to waiting 50 minutes for breakfast and it coming out ice cold. When we said we couldnt eat it they remade our bacon and eggs by giving us an egg on a piece of toast each. Overpriced, cold, time exhausting food. But they will stick around because they are on the foreshore and will always get business.
I *used* get cronuts there, which I take back to Melbourne. This last time, I found a nice big greasy grey hair on my cronut when I unpacked it back home...While I know its the "in" thing to have food in the open air on wooden boards, I think it would be a good idea to cover the food with so many people walking past it leaving their germs on it, ESPECIALLY during flu season. Who knows what lands on your food. Not sure I want another cronut now...I threw out the other one. =(
Regret I cant recommend. While one staff member offered quick attention and a friendly greeting, there was exceptionally slow service in getting a simple order to me (the cafe was not busy) and the food (waffles and coffee) was overpriced for very average quality. Further, another staff member appeared both apathetic and irritated when asked if my coffee would be much longer after 15 minutes. Much better value for money cafe experiences to be had in Civic and Manuka.
Wow! I wish Id read these reviews before stopping here. Took 20 mins to get coffees and 30 mins to get a simple poached egg and avocado on toast (which cost $22.00 mind you). And then we had to ask for spoons for the coffee and cutlery for the food. Appalling service all round really. Oh and the coffee was so bad I couldnt finish it. Luckily theres enough places along the foreshore that I dont have to come back here.
The service was slow and generally pretty terrible. Staff walked away mid service at the counter and were replaced by staff who just stood there staring at us, pretty awkward. Staff rolled their eyes whenever we asked questions and were unwelcoming. Food was okay but not worth the money or the long wait. Not a great option for lunchtime is youre in a hurry.
Had a great bacon and eggs roll here. Prices seem a little odd. The bacon and egg roll (which was a very generous size) was only $10. But eggs Benedict is $18. There was about a 5 minute delay between my roll and coming out and my partners roll coming, but other than that service was good. Coffees came out quickly.
Previously reasonable coffee though has always been hard to justify the cost of food here considering quality of competition within 500m. A recent change of staff and significant drop in coffee and service quality over the past 2 months means that this spot is unfortunately no longer recommended.
The food was good, coffee great (Lonsdale is a Canberra great) but the waiting time is horrendous, and then not to be given an apology after waiting 50 minutes for eggs on toast. What a disgrace. Wont be coming back, disappointed.
The service is terrible here. Our table was left uncleaned and we were waiting 45 minutes for food to arrive. People who arrived after us had eaten and left before we were even served. Simply not good enough.
We waited an hour for cold food, they lost our order...the seafood platter is an excuse of a meal...Coles house brand deep fried fish and calamari...our whole table was disappointed. Not worth a try.
Loved it. Love the location and the atmosphere. Food and coffee came quicker than expected even when they had a full shop. Menu showed us it was counter service along with sign inside. Thanks guys
Waiting an hour for a bacon and egg roll. Got the wrong coffee delivered. Saw my bacon and egg roll under the head lamp for 15 minutes before wait staff brought it over. Extremely disappointed
Its been an hour and were still waiting for a burger and two salads. The place isnt even busy. Staff walking around lost. Very disappointing. Do yourself a favour and stay away.
Cheerful and helpful staff, well done croissants and well made Lonsdale coffee. Marked down for lack of wifi...a necessity for such a upmarket price list.
The best coffee I have had so far in Canberra, the staff were really friendly, the venue is nice and cozy its going to my #1 coffee hangout in Kingston.
Four guests, two of breakfast plates were cold and quality was average for the price. Coffee has room for improvement. Pastries did look beautiful.
Went last week. Had to ask where my $22 Benedict with avo was after 30 mins. "itll be out in 2"... Took another 10 mins. I wont go back.
Absolutely rubbish 1hr wait for a big breakfast t Coffee was warm staff look very unorganised and cant keep up with volume of people
Yeh good, good coffee, good staff. Even gave my kid extra marshmallows in his babycino. Bit of talent behind the bar as well.
Had coffee here a few times without complaint. Does get busy at times. Has a good selection of bakery treats too.
Had a muffin and a coffee a few days back. The coffee was good but nothing special. The muffin was dry but tasty.
After a great morning cycling the foreshore this Cafe hit the spot with its hand made pies and amazing pastries
Last visit was ok. I have had nicer cakes before. Hope its nicer next time I visit. Staff friendly and polite.

Great quality food and coffee in a lovely location. Will definitely bring friends and family to try it.
Bacon and egg roll was perfect. Coffee just right. Nice outdoor space to sit and enjoy your brekkie.
Unfriendly service, no atmosphere and no style. The coffee and food were fine, but thats all.
Fabulous coffee and pastry selection is fantastic. Eggs Benedict is always a fab brunch treat.
Disappointing egg and bacon roll; bun was tough as. Milkshake served in a jar; a bit poncy.
Busy place but got everything i wanted in a suitable wait and enjoyed the hot smoked salmon
Terrible service. Toasted sandwich slapped on a plate with two cherry tomatoes as salad.
Good food and coffee. Decent service by the staff. I recommend this place for breakfast.
